Eagles RB Dion Lewis was arrested early Saturday after banging on locked glass doors to the lobby of a Hampton Inn and pulling a fire alarm.
According to the Albany Times Union, Lewis, along with his older brother Lamar, was locked out of a Hampton Inn. The sliding door to the lobby was locked and the two began to bang on the doors, then pulled the alarm.
Officer Steve Smith told the paper that both men were intoxicated at the time of the incident. They were charged with falsely reporting a fire and misdemeanor reckless endangerment.
Through the Eagles, Lewis released the following statement:
"I want to apologize to my family, the Albany community, the Eagles organization and fans, and to the NFL for my involvement in an incident this past weekend. It was never my intention to cause any public alarm or damage any property. I am sorry for any embarrassment and inconvenience that my actions have caused. I am committed to continuing to conduct myself in conformance with the high moral, ethical and professional standards that I have my entire life and of which so many others rightly expect of me. Because the matter is still in the hands of the court system, I cannot comment any further."
A fifth-round pick in 2011, Lewis rushed 23 times for 102 yards and a touchdown in his rookie season.
