Lions DT Nick Fairley plead not guilty to misdemeanor charges of DUI and attempting to elude police in Mobile, Ala.

Fairley was arrested on May 27. State troopers say Fairley was driving 100 mph. He has a hearing on July 31 for a separate marijuana charge.

Fairley’s attorney, Sid Harrell, told The Detroit Free Press that he expects a trial date to be set within 30-45 days.

Last year, Fairley did not attend the NFL’s Rookie Symposium, though he requested to attend the second half of this week’s symposium for rookies, which is taking place in Cleveland.

“Asking to attend this year’s symposium is clearly a positive action and a step in the right direction,” team president Tom Lewand told the Lions’ website.
