Eagles GM Howie Roseman slow played making a move at safety, and we believe he did so as a way of not sending the wrong message to their young players, Jaiquawn Jarrett and Kurt Coleman, who will be vying for one starting spot. The recent signing of free agent Oshiomogho Atogwe, in theory, has little to do with either of them. The ideal situation would be that Atogwe adds depth and experience to the position, capable of jumping into the lineup if either Nate Allen or the Jarrett-Coleman winner go down with an injury. The problem with Atogwe was that he was hurt and was forced to take mental reps from the sideline. When he did get into the lineup, he was tentative and not nearly the playmaker he had been in St. Louis. Redskins observers doubt he ever can get back to that level because the team let him walk without any qualified candidates to take his starting spot.
