Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff won the 2012 Jack Horrigan Award from the Professional Football Writers of America.

The award is given to the league or club official for his or her qualities and professional style in helping pro football writers do their job.

Dimitroff is the first GM to win the award since 2006 and the third member of the Falcons' franchise to receive the PFWA honor. Team president Rich McKay earned the award in 2005 as the club's GM.
