Ravens OLB Terrell Suggs spoke to reporters on Thursday and maintained that he did not injure his Achilles playing basketball.

“I didn’t get hurt doing it. That’s not what happened,” Suggs said. A gym director told ESPN that Suggs suffered the injury playing basketball at a gym in Glendale, Ariz.

Suggs, who was the 2011 Defensive Player of the Year, says he was injured during a conditioning drill. He underwent a new Achilles procedure that included a smaller incision.

“I will be in a Baltimore Ravens uniform in 2012,” he said. “The only question is when.”
