Tablet computers could be used for concussion diagnosis as soon as this season, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell told Sports Illustrated's Peter King in a story published Monday.

"There are some new technologies that make this very soon in the future where on a tablet, you can actually take a test on the sideline to determine (the concussion)," Goodell said, according to the SportsIllustrated.com story.

The NFL has bolstered its concussion testing in recent seasons but has been hit with scores of lawsuits related to head injuries alleged to have been suffered playing in the league.
