Former Chargers, Vikings and Rams LB Ben Leber announced his intention to retire on Minneapolis radio station KFAN on Friday.

Leber, who played 10 NFL seasons, began his career with four seasons in San Diego before moving to Minnesota for five seasons. He played seven games, with three starts, in his lone season in St. Louis.

Leber, 33, was a star at Kansas State and a third-round draft pick of the Chargers in 2002.

He had 496 total tackles, 24 sacks, 12 forced fumbles and five interceptions in his career.
