The Chargers agreed to a one-year deal with veteran RB Ronnie Brown, the team announced on Friday.
The former first-round pick played for the Eagles last season, carrying the ball 42 times for 136 yards and one touchdown. He played in all 16 games with two starts.
In 2010 with Miami, Brown started every game and rushed for 734 yards and had 242 yards receiving. In seven seasons, Brown has 4,951 rushing yards, 37 rushing touchdowns, 1,491 receiving yards and two receiving scores.
Brown joins Ryan Mathews, Curtis Brinkley and rookies Edwin Baker and Michael Hayes in San Diego’s backfield.
