The Saints signed veteran QB Luke McCown, his agent Mike McCartney announced on Twitter on Thursday.
Last season, McCown played in four games with two starts for the Jaguars. He completed 30-of-56 passes for 296 yards, zero touchdowns and four interceptions. He lost his starting job to rookie Blaine Gabbert.
The Saints invited McCown to their minicamp on a tryout basis. McCown, who will turn 31 in July, has played for the Browns and Buccaneers as well in his career.
