The Seahawks violated offseason workout rules in the new Collective Bargaining Agreement and have to forfeit two scheduled OTA practices.

The Seahawks violated the rules regarding prohibition of live contact during one of the team’s OTA days.

The Seahawks will forfeit their scheduled OTA practices on June 6 and 7, as well as an additional offseason workout day on June 8.

The NFL Management Council and NFLPA released a joint statement announcing the club’s violation. Seahawks players cannot be at the team facility those days, but will be paid for the sessions and Seattle cannot reschedule the cancelled days.

“In the new day that we’re in with the NFL, we have a new system of rules and guidelines,” Carroll said after Tuesday's workout, according to the team website. “As we practiced through our OTA session here, we’ve been trying to find the right tempo to matchup with the rules.

“We’ve pushed it. We are as competitive as you can be in our program, and everything about our program is about competing. We’re trying to find out what the limit is and do the right thing. That’s what we’ve been trying to find out."

“They saw a practice they didn’t like," Carroll added about the league and NFLPA reviewing Seattle's practice. "They’ve docked us two practices because of the level of work that we’ve been getting done.”
