The Raiders will send their 2013 second-round pick to Cincinnati to complete the Carson Palmer trade, multiple media outlets reported Wednesday.
The Raiders acquired Palmer from the Bengals last October. Oakland sent its first-round pick in 2012 (No. 17) to Cincinnati, which selected CB Dre Kirkpatrick.
According to multiple reports, the Raiders' play in 2012 has no bearing on the 2013 draft pick to be sent to Cincinnati. Per CSNBayArea.com, the Raiders said that a condition that could have upgraded the pick to a '13 first-rounder "was based on our performance during the 2011 season." The clause was tied to the Raiders making the 2011 AFC title game, according to CSNBayArea.com; Oakland missed the '11 postseason.
Palmer completed 199-of-328 passes for 2,753 yards with 13 touchdowns and 16 interceptions in 10 games (nine starts) for Oakland in 2011.
