The Texans signed RB Justin Forsett, the veteran back confirmed on Twitter. They also added former Cowboys CB Alan Ball.
Forsett has been with the Seahawks the past four seasons and tried out with Houston this past week. Last season, Forsett played in 16 games and carried the ball 46 times for 145 yards and a touchdown. He also had 23 catches for 128 yards.
Forsett had more than 100 carries in ’09 and ’10. He has 1,287 career rushing yards and seven rushing scores. Forsett will compete to be the No. 3 back behind Arian Foster and Ben Tate.
PFW correspondent and Houston Chronicle writer John McClain confirmed the team also reached a contract agreement with Ball, who spent the first five seasons of his career with the Cowboys.
Ball, who hasn't missed a game since 2008, started two of the 16 games he played last season, recording 37 tackles, six passes defensed and one interception. He will be reunited with Wade Phillips, his former head coach in Dallas and the current defensive coordinator for the Texans.
