Vikings CB Asher Allen informed the team that he decided to retire, Leslie Frazier told reporters after the team’s OTA on Wednesday.
Allen, 24, played in 12 games last season with nine starts. He had 49 tackles, three passes defensed and one interception.
In 2010, Allen started 11 of the 14 games he played. He entered the NFL in 2009 after being drafted in the third round.
A reason was not given for Allen’s decision to retire. He did suffer a concussion late last season.
