Despite a contract dispute, Patriots WR Wes Welker will be in Foxborough, Mass., on Monday for the start of the team's OTAs.

Welker, who earlier in the week said progress on a long-term deal had taken "a turn for the worse," said on Saturday he misspoke. The receiver has signed a one-year franchise tender for the 2012 season but is still hoping to receive a long-term contract extension.

“That was probably a bad choice of words, saying (contract negotiations have) gotten worse. They’ve stayed the same,” Welker said, according to the Boston Globe's Greg Bedard. “I’m franchised for the year and I’m completely happy with that and completely OK with it.”

Speaking at a youth football clinic, Welker added he would be attending organized team activities next week and wants to remain in New England the remainder of his career.
