Chargers TE Antonio Gates is healthy again, according to his head coach, Norv Turner.

"Gates looks great — he's back," Turner said Thursday, according to U-T San Diego. "Physically, he's back to where we want him to be. I think, like anybody, going through this offseason program helps you get better. (It's) the combination of conditioning, the combination of getting better in the areas you can improve, and being out there with your teammates."

Gates has been slowed by injuries the past two seasons, and a plantar fascia injury last offseason kept him from working out fully during the lockout.

Despite the injuries that have forced him to miss nine games over the past two seasons, Gates has still totaled 114 catches for 1,560 yards and 17 touchdowns. He has gone to eight consecutive Pro Bowls.

Looking to the future with Gates turning 32 in June, the Chargers selected Ladarius Green in the fourth round of the April draft, and he is seen as the future starter at tight end.
