Bears WR Brandon Marshall has reportedly been cleared by police after an investigation into an incident outside a Manhattan nightclub in March.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Marshall's agent, Harvey Steinberg, said New York City police will not bring criminal charges against Marshall, who was alleged to have punched a woman in the face.

Marshall had expressed confidence that he would be cleared of any wrongdoing, and police did not have the evidence to bring charges.

The way we see it

This is obviously good news for Marshall and the Bears, who traded two third-round picks for Marshall earlier this offseason. However, not being charged doesn't guarantee that Marshall, who served a one-game suspension in 2008 for violating the league's personal-conduct policy, won't face a suspension from the league.
