After selecting two tight ends in the first three rounds of the NFL draft, the Colts have released TE Brody Eldridge.

Eldridge had nine receptions in 13 games last season, but likely lost his place in the lineup with the addition of rookies Coby Fleener and Dwayne Allen. Both first-year players are expected to see extended playing time in 2012.

Eldridge is the third tight end to leave the Colts this offseason. Veteran Jacob Tamme signed with the Broncos and Dallas Clark is a free agent.
