Ex-Packers DL Johnny Jolly has been granted an early release from a Texas jail, just six months into his six-year prison sentence for possession of illegal drugs.

According to ABC-13 in Houston, “Jolly applied for 'shock probation,' which allows for certain convicts to be released early on probation after experiencing the shock or trauma of being in jail.”

A judge gave Jolly 10 years of the shock probation, along with 200 hours of community service.

Jolly has been suspended from the NFL since 2010 after an arrest for illegal possession of codeine, and he has had multiple parole violations since.

The 29-year-old played four seasons with the Packers from 2006-09. He started all 32 games his last two years in the league.
