Veteran C Jamaal Jackson decided to retire after one day at a tryout with the Giants.
Giants head coach Tom Coughlin confirmed to reporters that Jackson said his heart wasn’t in it and decided to retire. Jackson attended the tryout Friday at the Giants’ rookie minicamp.
Jackson’s career ends after eight NFL seasons. The Delaware State alum spent all those years with the Eagles. From 2006-09, he missed only one start. Last season, he played in all 16 games for Philly, but did not log a start.
Jackson retires having played in 88 career games with 72 starts.
