The Vikings have entered into an agreement with the University of Minnesota to use TCF Bank Stadium during the construction of a new Vikings stadium.

Under the agreement, the team will pay the university a fixed fee of $250,000 per game, according to The Associated Press. In addition, the Vikings will pay the university a share of the concessions and sponsorship revenue, which would amount to another $50,000 per game. All told, it’s estimated that the team would pay $3 million per season for use of the Gophers’ stadium.

The agreement also stipulates that the Vikings will pay for any changes that they require to be made to the stadium, for all non-game-day expenses and game-day operational expenses related to the team’s use of the stadium.

A bill authorizing the construction of a $978 million stadium in Minneapolis on the site of the Metrodome passed the Minnesota House and Senate this week and needs only the governor's signature to become law.
