The Texans have added a veteran quarterback to their depth chart, agreeing to terms with QB John Beck, according to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle. Terms and conditions have not been announced.
Beck was released by the Redskins on April 28 following their selections of Robert Griffin III and Kirk Cousins in the NFL draft. Last season with Washington, Beck appeared in four games — with three starts — and had 858 passing yards, two TDs and four interceptions.
In Houston, he will likely compete for the third QB job with Texans undrafted free-agent addition Case Keenum. The top two spots on the team’s depth chart — held by Matt Schaub and T.J. Yates — are not up for competition.
