The Ravens have added to their receiving corps, agreeing to a contract with WR Jacoby Jones. According to Aaron Wilson of the Carroll County (Md.) Times, the deal is for two years and worth $7 million.

Jones was released by the Texans on May 1 following five seasons in Houston. In that time span, the receiver had 127 catches for 1,741 yards and 11 touchdowns.

The Ravens released WR Lee Evans earlier in the offseason and have been looking for a veteran target to add to the passing game.

The way we see it

Given his size (6-2, 212 pounds), Jones is a good fit for the Ravens' passing game, but his greatest contribution to the team may be on special teams. Having returned 64 kickoffs and 179 punts during his career, Jones will likely compete for those jobs in Baltimore’s training camp. The team would like to see someone take the punt-return job away from Lardarius Webb, who will see an expanded role on defense this season.
