DE Bruce Irvin is the first first-rounder of the 2012 draft to sign a contract, as he agreed to terms with the Seahawks on Monday. Pro Football Talk first reported the signing.
Irvin, the 15th pick of April’s draft, was the surprise of the first round. He had 8½ sacks last year, 14 sacks in 2010 and 16 in 2009 for West Virginia.
According to ESPN’s Andrew Brandt, Irvin gets $9.34 million guaranteed for four years. Last year’s No. 15 pick, Mike Pouncey, received $9.26 million.
