The Saints signed DT Remi Ayodele to a one-year contract, the team announced on Monday.

Ayodele returns to New Orleans after spending the 2011 season with the Vikings. In 16 games he had 13 starts, 15 tackles and 1½ sacks.

Ayodele was with the Saints from 2008-10. In ’10, he started all 16 games, recording 37 tackles, one sack and one forced fumble.

The Saints lost DT Shaun Rogers in free agency and have not re-signed DT Aubrayo Franklin.
