The Jaguars have offered a tryout to undrafted PK Long Ding, who played at Norwich University in Vermont.

Ding, who comes from Qing Dao, China, made 13-of-16 field goals and 34-of-35 extra points in 2011 for Norwich.

His journey to the NFL began in 2007, when he traveled 7,000 from his home to the New Hampton School in New Hampshire as part of the USA Football International Student Program. Ding caught the attention of pro scouts at the NFL Regional Combine in New York last month.

Josh Scobee, the Jaguars’ regular placekicker, is unhappy with being given the franchise tag earlier in the offseason.
