Broyles is coming off an ACL tear suffered in November and is not likely to be 100 percent this season. However, the Lions don’t need him with Calvin Johnson, Titus Young and Nate Burleson as their top trio.
At 5-10, 185 pounds, Broyles is best suited for the slot position. He has playmaker quickness and instincts and run-after-the-catch skills. He obviously lacks the height and weight to be a fantasy star in most formats but hopefully in this powerful offense, he will make a difference in PPR leagues. He needs to become a better route runner, blocker and does not appear to be an impact punt returner. However, he likely will be involved in the return game once he's healthy.
He has value in dynasty leagues but none in single-season formats. If his injury keeps him off the field in 2012, he won't learn the offense, which would make his 2012 fantasy season over before it starts.
