RB Ryan Williams isn’t the Cardinals’ only second-year player widely expected to provide a big boost for the offense after missing his entire rookie campaign with a torn patellar tendon. Our sources on the scene agree that TE Rob Housler is perhaps even a better candidate than Williams as the team’s most likely breakthrough offensive performer in 2012. “They think a lot of him,” one source said of Housler, who displayed flashes as a rookie but was hindered by hamstring problems that forced him to miss four games. “There were some games early in the season when he was wide open down the seams, and they just missed him. He showed a quick understanding of the offense, and they liked the fact they could use him in different ways. He’s really fast for a tight end. He’s kind of slender, but he has a big body, has really good hands and he’s a big mismatch against most safeties.”
