Redskins S Brandon Meriweather was arrested early Thursday on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to WJLA in Arlington, VA.

Meriweather was pulled over at about 2:54 a.m. He refused a breathalyzer test and was held overnight at the Arlington County Detention Center. Meriweather was released.

A sixth-year veteran, Meriweather signed with Washington this offseason. He began his career with the Patriots before spending the 2011 season with the Bears. He has 12 career interceptions.
