The Titans believed they needed someone to work within the short passing game with the speed to stretch the field either vertically or horizontally. Kendall Wright was their best choice and makes the Titans extremely deep with Kenny Britt (ACL), Nate Washington, Damian Williams and Lavelle Hawkins. Don’t forget TE Jared Cook.
At 5-10, 190 pounds, durability in the NFL is a concern. For every Steve Smith (Panthers) — a small, durable receiver — there are 10 versions of Roscoe Parrish — a small, talented but injury-prone receiver. Wright is physical and an able but inconsistent blocker with the mindset of a throwback football player.
A highlight-reel player with an ability to make tough, acrobatic plays, he has great agility and an ability to start and stop. The playmaker will be given a chance to start but also will be fighting for targets from Britt and Cook as well as RB Chris Johnson.
Right now, he’s a draft prospect in dynasty leagues. Camp and preseason games will show us how quickly he picks up the speed and size of the NFL. View him as a mid-round pick that could move up.
