The Jaguars have gone from having only Mike Thomas as their lone legitimate receiver to adding Laurent Robinson, Lee Evans and now Justin Blackmon. There’s no excuse for QB Blaine Gabbert in terms of quality.

Blackmon can play in the clutch and make big plays. He has great body control and at 6-1, 210 pounds, he creates separation by using strength and cunning to make up for his lack of great speed.

He will need to be a better blocker and figure out how to overcome an inability to separate from faster corners when he goes vertical. He played in a spread offense, so he will need to make a transition and while some think he can make an impact this year, fantasy owners shouldn’t.

The Jaguars are a run-first team with Maurice Jones-Drew and a young quarterback in Gabbert who was beat down last season with 40 sacks. Rebuilding Gabbert's confidence will take time. Dynasty league owners are the only ones who should look at Blackmon this year.
