The Eagles have found a trading partner for Asante Samuel — the Falcons.
The teams announced on Wednesday that Philadelphia will trade the veteran corner to the Falcons for a seventh-round pick, No. 229 overall.
The Falcons reportedly agreed to terms with Samuel on a three-year, $18.5 million contract. He was set to earn $9.9 million in 2012 and $11.4 million in 2013 on his original contract.
The 10-year veteran started all 14 games in which he played last season and recorded 10 passes defensed and three interceptions.
Falcons CB Brent Grimes did sign his franchise tender on Tuesday, which gives him a guaranteed salary of $10.262 million for 2012.
