According to a report by NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora, Chiefs DL Tyson Jackson agreed to restructure his contract, cutting his salary from $8 million in 2012 to $4.25 million in base salary with $4 million guaranteed.

He also voided the last year of the deal, 2014, and could hit the open market as soon as 2013.

Jackson, the third overall pick in the 2009 draft, is due to earn a $14.72 million salary in 2013. That high figure would likely be restructured or result in the team letting him go. Only $3.2 million of his '13 salary is guaranteed.
