Saints LB Jonathan Vilma, who is expected to receive a suspension from the NFL for his role in the team's bounty scandal, has agreed to restructure his contract, according to CBSSports.com's Larry Holder.
Exact terms of the deal were not announced.
Vilma, a three-time Pro Bowler, is expected to hear from the league soon about his punishment. He was named prominently in the NFL's report about New Orleans administering a fund that paid players for hits, and he could miss as many as eight games next season. Since coming to the Saints in 2008, Vilma has started all 58 games he's played in.
To brace for the impending suspension to their middle linebacker, the Saints signed former Falcons MLB Curtis Lofton to a deal earlier this offseason.
