The Falcons have declined HBO’s invitation to be on “Hard Knocks” this summer, according to Albert Breer of NFL.com.

The show, which provides an all-access look at a team during training camp, was seen as a distraction by the organization. Breer states that Falcons owner Arthur Blank, GM Thomas Dimitroff and head coach Mike Smith agreed that “the focus should be on football over the summer.”

Because of the lockout, the show did not air last season. In 2010, the Jets were profiled, and the program was critically praised. Jets owner Woody Johnson has said publicly the team would be willing to be on the show again, though head coach Rex Ryan has said he does not want to be profiled a second time.
