Nebraska CB Alfonzo Dennard was arrested early Saturday for allegedly assaulting a police officer in Lincoln, Neb.
According to the Omaha World-Herald, police officers saw Dennard fighting another man at 2:15 a.m. When police intervened, Dennard allegedly pushed an officer in the face. Four other officers had to help take him into custody after the incident.
The 22-year-old Dennard was officially cited for third-degree assault of an officer, resisting arrest and third-degree assault in connection with the bar fight.
Dennard is PFW’s seventh-ranked cornerback in the upcoming NFL draft, and he was projected to be a second- or third-round pick prior to his arrest.
