Marc Colombo signed a one-year contract with the Cowboys on Friday, allowing him to retire as a member of the team. The news was first reported by Todd Archer of ESPN Dallas.

Colombo’s official retirement will come at a press conference on Monday.

"My time here was the majority of my career," Colombo said. "I feel like this place made me the football player I always wanted to be. It’s just an amazing place with an unbelievable owner. To be able to play at other places you realize there’s nothing like being a Cowboy."

A former first-round pick of the Bears, Colombo played six seasons in Dallas. During that time span he started 72 games, mostly at right tackle. Following the lockout in 2011, he was released by the Cowboys and signed by the Dolphins, where he started 16 games a year ago.
