There’s no denying the numerous holes on the Rams’ roster. But in the early stages of the team’s offseason conditioning program, there’s also no denying the optimistic feeling at the QB position, with starter Sam Bradford and newly re-signed backup Kellen Clemens appearing to offer a solid 1-2 punch. “Clemens is probably not the ideal No. 2 guy, but he knows (new offensive coordinator Brian) Schottenheimer well from their time together with the Jets and is a logical choice for a lot of reasons,” said one team insider. “He certainly is a gamer. It was impressive how competitive he was right away late last season.” As for Bradford, we’re told he is feeling a lot better after struggling so mightily in his second season. “He’s finally healthy, and as each year goes by, his personality comes out a little more,” the source said. “He’s excited about a system more like the one in which he thrived as a rookie.”
