The Texans announced of pair of changes in their front office on Wednesday, promoting D. Cal McNair to chief operating officer and Suzie Thomas to executive vice president/general counsel.

McNair, the son of owner and CEO Bob McNair and also the team’s vice chairman, was on the search committee that eventually hired both GM Rick Smith and head coach Gary Kubiak. He currently works closely with Smith and Kubiak, along with representing the Texans at NFL meetings.

Thomas helps oversee the legal, human resources and business administration functions for the team.

“Cal and Suzie both occupy very important positions in our organization,” Bob McNair said in a statement. “I am pleased that they will represent the Texans in these very important leadership roles.”
