The Bears agreed to terms with former 49ers OG Chilo Rachal, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Rachal played in all 16 games last season and was a starter in the first three before losing the job to Adam Snyder. In his four seasons with San Francisco, he logged 55 games and 38 starts.

Rachal is the ninth free-agent addition the Bears have made this offseason, but the first on the offensive line.

The way we see it

Head coach Lovie Smith had indicated this offseason that he liked the group the Bears had on the offensive line and they already had solid depth on the interior. Perhaps a reclamation project like Rachal intrigued offensive coordinator Mike Tice. He could get a chance to compete for a starting spot at guard, but fits best as a backup.
