Jets OLB Aaron Maybin has signed his restricted free-agent tender, keeping him with the team that helped resurrect his career.
On Monday morning, Maybin wrote on his Twitter account, “Just inked the new contract....blessed 2 have this opportunity. Time 2 go to work.”
Maybin, a former first-round pick of the Bills, was given an original-round tender by the Jets. The one-year deal is worth $1.26 million, but is not guaranteed for the 2012 season. He ranked No. 67 on PFW’s ranking of the top 100 free agents this offseason.
Last season, his first with the Jets, Maybin played in 13 games, recording six sacks and forcing four fumbles. The first two years of his career — both with Buffalo — Maybin had zero sacks and only one forced fumble.
