Days after trading for OLB Keith Rivers, the Giants continued to add to their linebacking corps, agreeing to terms with free agent Chase Blackburn on a one-year deal. According to Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News, the contact is for the veteran minimum salary, which is $825,000.

Blackburn came out of retirement late last season and helped the Giants win Super Bowl XLVI. He started the final four regular-season games and all four playoff games for New York. His biggest play of the season came in the Super Bowl vs. New England, when he intercepted Tom Brady on a deep throw at the beginning of the fourth quarter.

The seven-year veteran, who missed only three games with the Giants from 2005-10, enjoyed his best season in 2008, when he had 61 tackles while starting eight games for New York.
