Needing depth in their secondary, the Giants have agreed to a contract with CB Antwaun Molden, according to Mike Reiss of ESPN Boston. Terms and conditions of the deal were not announced.

Molden played the first three seasons of his career with the Texans from 2008-10 before joining the Patriots last season. He played in all 16 games for New England a year ago, registering 36 tackles and a pair of interceptions.

The Giants are hopeful that CB Terrell Thomas — who missed the team’s Super Bowl run with a preseason torn ACL — can return as a starter across from Corey Webster, and that 2011 first-round pick Prince Amukamara can improve to the nickel role. However the team lost CB Aaron Ross in free agency, so the arrival of Molden was a necessity for New York.
