Bengals free-agent WR Jerome Simpson was sentenced to 15 days in jail and three years' probation on drug-related charges, according to The Associated Press.
The arrest stems from a search of Simpson’s home and subsequent arrest in September. Over two pounds of marijuana was shipped from California to Simpson’s home in northern Kentucky. Inside the house, six more pounds of pot was found, as well as drug paraphernalia.
He was indicted on a felony charge of marijuana trafficking and pleaded guilty on March 1. His plea agreement included a recommended 60-day jail sentence. The agreement also changed the charge to a prohibited act relating to controlled substances.
Simpson had 50 catches for 725 yards last season for the Bengals.
