Former NFL QB Ryan Leaf is in trouble with the law again, as the Associated Press reported on Monday that Leaf has been arrested for burglary, theft and two counts of criminal possession of dangerous drugs. The news comes just two days after he was booked for similar burglary and drug charges.
Leaf was arrested on March 30 after it was found he had burglarized an acquaintance's home to obtain prescription painkillers. He was booked for criminal possession of dangerous drugs, felony burglary and misdemeanor theft; Leaf posted $76,000 in bond and was released while he awaited trial.
On Monday in Great Falls, Montana, Leaf was arrested again for stealing pain-killing drugs. He is currently being detained on probation violation. Because there is no bond for the violation, Leaf cannot be released from jail until his court hearing later on Monday.
The No. 2 pick of the 1998 draft, having been drafted behind Peyton Manning, Leaf played four seasons in the NFL with the Chargers and Cowboys.
