The Texans have agreed to a two-year deal with P Donnie Jones, according to multiple online sources. Financial terms of the deal were not announced.

Jones spent the past five seasons punting for the Rams. In 2011, he led the NFL with 105 punts, gaining a net of 37 yards per attempt. During the season, one of his punts was blocked and two were returned for touchdowns.

Texans P Brett Hartmann ended the 2011 season on injured reserve after tearing his ACL. He is also suspended for the first three games of the 2012 season for violating the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs.
