The 49ers agreed to terms with former Giants RB Brandon Jacobs, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The Giants cut Jacobs, who reportedly was due a $500,000 roster bonus in March along with his $4.4 million base salary for 2012.
The seventh-year veteran rushed for 571 yards on 152 carries and seven touchdowns last season. He also had 15-128-1 receiving. Jacobs has 56 career rushing scores. He joins Frank Gore and Kendall Hunter in San Francisco’s backfield.
