The Patriots announced Monday that they released FB Lousaka Polite.

New England signed Polite in the week leading up to the regular-season finale. He played in Week 17 as well as the Patriots’ three postseason games, including Super Bowl XLVI.

Polite had been with the Dolphins from 2008-10. He has spent time with the Cowboys and Bears as well in his career.

Polite has played in 76 games with 27 starts. The Patriots reportedly signed FB Tony Fiammetta earlier in the day Monday and last week added FB Spencer Larsen.
