The Seahawks have found a backup for Marshawn Lynch, agreeing to a deal on Friday with RB Kregg Lumpkin.
Lumpkin played the past two seasons for the Bucs, where he was primarily a reserve running back and special-teamer. In 2011, he had 31 carries for 105 yards and 41 receptions for 291 yards, along with five special-teams tackles.
The three-year veteran was scheduled to become a restricted free agent earlier this month, but the Buccaneers elected not to offer him a minimum tender or qualifying offer. As a result, Lumpkin became an unrestricted free agent March 13.
Earlier in the offseason, the Seahawks re-signed Lynch to a four-year, $31 million deal, with $17 million guaranteed.
