The trade sending QB Tim Tebow from the Broncos to the Jets has been held up once again because of a contract technicality and won't be made official until Saturday, according to multiple reports.
Tebow must sign a rewritten contract with the Broncos, the Newark Star-Ledger reported, in order to remain on their salary cap for 24 hours. Then, the trade won't become official until 4 p.m. ET Saturday.
Because of this contract technicality, the Jets will not be able to introduce Tebow as a member of the team as planned on Friday. A Monday press conference will now be held for Tebow.
The two teams also had to revise trade terms Wednesday night when they originally agreed to the deal that sends Tebow and a seventh-round pick to the Jets for New York's fourth- and sixth-round picks.
