In February 2010, Tracy Porter picked off Peyton Manning in the fourth quarter of Super Bowl XLIV and returned the interception 74 yards for a TD to seal the victory for the Saints over the Colts. Now, just two years later, the two players are teammates.

Two days after Manning signed with the Broncos, Porter did the same, agreeing to a one-year deal with the team on Thursday evening. The news was first reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter; financial terms were not announced.

Porter is set to enter his fifth NFL season after spending four in New Orleans. He has 194 tackles and seven interceptions during his regular-season career, along with two playoff picks and that one touchdown return on Manning.

PFW ranked Porter 56th on its list of the top 100 free agents this offseason.

The way we see it

Cornerback was a great need for Denver, as its two starting corners — Champ Bailey and André Goodman — both will be 34 when the 2012 season begins. Porter is a ballhawk and should do well in a Denver scheme that plays a lot of man-to-man.
